Marketing agency's own AI app, untangled onto one database

An agency that serves law firms built its own app with AI, and it started fighting back. We found two systems holding the same data, moved everything onto one database, and weekly work on it continues.

What we built

  • One source of truth. We took over his code and retired the second system.
  • Every call scored. Each inbound call is transcribed and scored by AI.
  • SEO red flags. Weekly SEO PDFs are read by AI into red flags per law firm.
  • Ads in plain English. Ask about Google Ads and Meta Ads, get the answer from an AI agent.
  • A portal per firm. Each law firm sees its own. The owner sees all of them.

How it works

  1. An intake call is recordedCallRail
  2. AI scores the transcript and flags what was missedClaude
  3. Weekly SEO PDFs are read into red flags per firmClaude
  4. Everything lands in one database, with a portal per firmNext.js, Supabase, Inngest
  5. Approved posts are scheduledMetricool

What broke and how we fixed it

What broke

Two systems held the same data, so every fix broke something else. About 20 percent of the SEO PDFs failed to read at first.

How we fixed it

We picked one database and moved everything onto it. Then we fixed the PDF reading.

The result

About 49 to 5 or 6 script files after the code rescue
